Some items I made

Milkcan

photo of a milkcanThis is a genuine old milk can that farmers and dairies used to ship milk in. Some of them (but not all) have the date and the name of the dairy on them. If I can I leave the date and name on them. I've known people that collect old milk cans just the way they are but I think I've added something unique to them. I've never seen one in Wal-Mart.
Some people put lights or candles in them and at night it casts a beautiful shadow on the wall. I had one lady mount hers on a pole, and made a yard light out of it. A man bought four of them and set them on his patio with citronella candles in them. Cigar smokers use them for ashtrays. Still others put umbrellas and walking canes in them. Another neat trick is to put a string of Christmas lights in them.
I can cut any picture that you may want in them. I do it all by hand one at a time, but if you want your own picture or logo just send it to me. I can enlarge it or shrink it down to fit the can or anything else that you may want it on. Custom is our first name.

Saw blades

I lived in Southern Oregon for 20 years. While I was there I made friends with several millwrights that worked in the mills there. They started bringing me all types of saw blades to cut pictures in. Some of the blades were very old and some were more modern. I try to keep a large variety of saw blades on hand.

I've cut pictures in all kinds of saw blades from carpenter's hand saws to big 8 foot, 2 handled crosscut saws. I've even cut pictures in chainsaw bars.

These saw blades pictured here are about 3 feet in diameter. Can you see the buffalo head in the one on the right?

I will also cut whatever you want in your own saw blade.

Plow share

This is an old plow share that had been thrown away. I cut a picture in it of a man plowing behind a horse ( the horse isn't in the picture). It was probably 18" wide and 30" tall. I cut pictures in just about anything.

Hat & coat racks

This hat rack is all made from angle iron and horseshoes. The trees are angle iron that I cut and textured with a plasma cutter. The horseshoes are used, and some of the nails are left in and braded. This looks better to me than using new horseshoes.
I sell a lot of these with a silhouette in place of the trees on this one. They can be made any length or size that you want, and with any picture that you want.

Belt buckles

This belt buckle was a Christmas gift to me from an antler carving friend of mine in Southern Oregon many years ago. It is the base of an elk antler. The pattern is my cattle brand from when I had cows. I've still got 3 or 4 branding irons with it on them, but I don't register it with the state any more. Now it is the way I sign everything that I make.
When I left Oregon, my friend started cutting pictures in cast iron skillets and selling them. Yes, I showed him how to do it, but he also showed me how to make these belt buckles. The pattern is carved into the antler. then a mixture of brass filings and epoxy is put into the hole and left to dry. After it dries, it gets sanded and polished. Then the hardware is screwed onto the back.
There is a little more to it than that, but that's the basic idea. I make several kinds and almost anything can be carved into them. They're very unique and make a great gift.

Gates

photo of a custom made gate

This is a gate going into a ladies back yard from the side of her house. She gave me a photograph of her father's tractor and wanted me to put it on a gate for her. I made the gate and enlarged the picture to get more detail in it, and she loved it.
I have made many sizes of gates and entry ways. Once I made a gate with 2 full sized bull elk fighting on it.
If a gate or entryway calls for brick or stone, I get a professional to do that part, so that it's done right. I only do the metal parts and installation.
